The Kings Arms would like to take this opportunity to welcome our  Head Chef Chris Heather to the team.

 

Head chef Chris Heather started his kitchen career at an early age. At 14 he was washing up in his local pub. It was here that he got a taste for the culinary life.

He went on to do a three year apprenticeship at Botley Park Hotel. He excelled in his time here, winning apprentice of the year twice.

Once he had finished there Chris decided to take the time to travel. This took him to Australia where he took a position at Icebergs on Bondi Beach.

In 2007 Chris headed back to the UK and to the bright lights of London. Here he found himself a place on the team at the prestigious Ivy, working as a chef de partie under Tim Hughes for two years.

After this Chris headed back to his home town of Southampton where he began work at Ceno’s as sous chef under Paul Waite.

In 2011 Chris took the next step in his career and took a head chefs position for the Italian dining group.

Now at the end of 2012 Chris has come on board as head chef here at the King's Arms.

Chris says "I am very privileged to have worked under some wonderful chefs from whom I have learnt a great deal. I am looking forward to putting this knowledge to work whilst creating some exciting, and interesting dishes. I am fortunate enough to be in a great region, with some fantastic produce on my doorstep, that I can't wait to start work with."

Our take away menu is now in full swing!! It is available from 5pm-8pm Monday to Saturday.
